Accommodation

We recommend to look for accommodation in Illetes or close to Illetes because we will schedule the transfers from and to Gran Melia De Mar hotel for the welcome parties and on the wedding day

Some hotel options are:

  • Gran Melia De Mar Hotel (Adults only) – This is where we will be staying and where transport pick ups/drop off’s will be from.

  • Barcelo Albatros Hotel (Adult’s only) - This is 50 yards (3-5min walk) from the Melia.

  • Hotel Palace Bonanza Playa & Spa (Child friendly) – This is a 6 min walk from the Melia. (There is also the Hotel Bonanza Park which is opposite but not on the beachfront).

  • Hotel Bon Sol Resort & Spa (Child friendly) – This is 500m (8 min walk from the Melia).

There are various others in the area and close by.

I’m in Mallorca. What’s next?

  • This is the most beautiful village in the Tramuntana mountain range, located 17 km from Palma de Mallorca. What to see in Valldemossa?

    • Royal Carthusian Monastery of Valldemossa

    • Frederic Chopin and George Sand Museum

    • Gardens of King Juan Carlos

    • Palace of King Sancho

And of course...you can't miss trying the famous coca de patata! Recommended places to eat coca de patata:

    • Panadería Pastelería Ca'n Molinas

    • Es Cós

  • One of the best ways to make the most of the afternoon is to visit the Sa Foradada viewpoint/Mirador sa Foradada (Deià) and experience the sunset in the Chiringuito.

  • One of the best excursions to contemplate the bays and the coast of Alcudia, Palma or the crystal clear waters of es trenc, enjoying a delicious meal and drinks plus a little 'party boat' time. Some of the recommended companies are:

    • Catamaran Attraction

    • Alcudia Sea Explorer

    • Magic catamarans

  • Finally, with all the variety of activities that Mallorca has to offer, there is also a whole series of Beach Clubs to relax and enjoy the beaches during your stay on the island. Some of the best Beach Clubs on the island include:

    • Beach Club Gran Folies

    • Mhares Sea Club

    • PuroBeach Illetas

    • UM portals

    • Anima Beach Club

  • A day in Paradise. Cabrera is a small island declared a National Park located to the south o Mallorca. In Cabrera you can enjoy a long itinerary, enjoying its crystalline waters and its wide marine diversity, as well as some historical monuments (Castell de Cabrera). To go to the Island of Cabrera you must go by boat from the port of Colònia de Sant Jordi (there are different companies specialised in offering speedboats).

  • The best way to see Mallorca in a different and fun way.... HORSE RIDING! This is a 2 hour horse riding excursion, with the assistance of a professional instructor. There are a popular place in RANCHO GRANDE in Son Serra de Marina.

  • Enjoy an unforgettable day aboard a sailboat visiting incredible beaches, unique landscapes with spectacular sunsets and water sports. Any area of the island is suitable and incredible to enjoy a day on a boat. Perhaps it will be interesting to look for a beach near the location where you are staying, although we give you an example of an excursion (and one of our favorite areas: Puerto Soller - Sierra de Tramuntana).

  • The lighthouse of Formentor, located at the northern end of the Serra de Tramuntana, will let you enjoy some incredible images. The road leading to the lighthouse runs through a mountainous area and allows you to contemplate the spectacular panoramic views with the Mediterranean in the background (forests, cliffs, beaches with crystal clear waters, a unique and wonderful landscape). When to go or what to do? Go to experience the sunset there (and buy a few beers to enjoy it better, there is no bar there!). Stopping at Mirador d’es colomer is also enough to enjoy the views without getting to the lighthouse if you doesn’t have a lot of time.

  • Playa de Muro, located on the northeast coast of the island, is the longest beach in Mallorca and includes four sections/areas covering approximately 6 km. There is a wide variety of restaurants and bars, whose speciality is Paellas. We recommend (make sure to book in advance):

    • Can Gavella

    • Ponderosa Beach

    • Samsara Beach Club

  • For example: Puerto Portals, Port Adriano and Paseo Maritimo in Palma are one of the best leisure ports on the island, whether during the day or at night, a stroll and dinner in one of these is always a good plan.

  • Discovering the centre of Palma. Any visit to Mallorca must include the centre of Palma. Getting to know Palma is great if you do it on foot, walking through its streets and getting to know every corner better. Although some of the places to visit without a doubt, are:

    • The Cathedral of Palma

    • The Royal Palace of Almudaina

    • Plaza Mayor

    • The Old Town

    • Castell de Bellver

  • For shopping we recommend to visit one of the numerous markets.

Besides the centre of Palma, you might also find what you are looking for here:

    • Fashion outlet Festival Park

    • Shopping mall Porto Pi

    • Mallorca Fan

  • There is a company: Palma Riders, who offers the opportunity to tour the Sierra de Tramuntana, (World Heritage of Humanity) on a motorbike, visiting small dream villages and viewpoints from which you can contemplate the magnificent views of the island (they also do guided tours if you are not adventurous enough to go on your own).

Check their website to rent your own motorbike and enjoy this spectacular adventure.

  • Enjoy looking at beautiful fishes, as well as the shark feeding at Palma aquarium

  • What would Mallorca be without its incredible calas and crystalline waters, its calas are one of the places that must be visited. Some of them are: Cala Santanyí. Cala Llombards, Caló des Moro and Cala S'Almunia, Cala Mondragó. Apart from the Calas, there are also a whole series of beaches with crystal clear waters and white sand, such as: Es Trenc, Es Caragol, Ses Covetes.

  • During the stay on the island, the pleasure of the palate is also taken into account with wine tastings, a real treat in the wine cellars of Mallorca. For instance, Bodegas Vi Rei provides guided tours with routes inside the winery and a brief explanation of Mallorca's wine culture. Other options include tastings without a guided tour.
